very quiet and romantic. not only the room was great, but also the terrace around the gold room, the view of the sea and the hills, the garden and the breakfast with fresh homemade food you served every morning. all these things made our holiday very special and your warm hearted personality made us feel very welcome. instead of visiting the obvious places like florence and sienna we took your advice and went to the smaller towns and villages in the mountains, such as lucca, volterra, bolgheri and polulonia. although we had not so much time to spend, the island of elba was well worth visiting too. the most special thing? the 'tuscany feeling'. once we got back home we tried to keep it ("piano, piano"), but it is not something you can put in a little box and take with you. well, we do have lovely memories and can't wait to return! torsten & judith     Uwe & Anke 20.52 - 20.07.2009 dear micaela, the last two weeks we had the opportunity to stay at your most beautiful bed and breakfast. when we arrived we were welcomed as friends or even a part of family. we were offered a refreshing drink and a slice of homemade cake on the terrace overlooking the beautiful landscape of tuscany and entirely felt like being at home. our suite (the wonderful gold room on the top) is as the entire property set up with many lovely details that make you feel like being in a very special place. we had our private sun deck where we sat outside in the evening enjoing a good glass of wine, cheese looking into the stars and listening to the crickets playing their songs ....dreaming our dream of staying for the rest of our lives. to the garden a lot of accessories have been added e.g. a beautifully furnished sommer house, a hammock with pillows, lawn chairs overlooking the landscape or a pool with water lillys - giving the whole place a cosy atmosphere. every morning we were looking forward to micaela‘s breakfast which was served on the outside terrace. we were coddeled with different kinds of home-made bread and cake, fresh tuscan cheese, prosciutto, cereals, frutto lattes and differents sorts of eggs even eggs „uwe style“...to make it short: eggs in every style you can think of and any style you prefer...only topped by original italian caffe lattes ;-) the problem was being down to the terrace for breakfast in time...the crickets were lulling us into such a deep sleep that it was hard to wake up the other morning...once - or even more than once ;-) - we could not make it in time like 10:30 pm, and were planning to skip breakfast because we did not want to hold micaela up. but when we arrived to the terrace to give micaela our excuses for being late, telling her about our plans to skip breakfast, she just took the espresso cups, prepared two of her perfect lattes and asked how we would like our eggs to be cooked today. she was cheery and welcoming as if we had not been late at all, chatting with us about our plans for the day and giving us perfect recommendations for short trips, the best beaches, perfect restaurants and helped to organize everything... just great! ...you know, everything was relaxing, flexible and welcoming, we have never experienced such personal service before... due to micaela‘s recommendation we visited the winery argentiera where isabella gave us a personal guided tour of the property. besides the overwhelming property we were endowed to visit, isabella‘s enthusiasm was jumping over to us. the personal guided tour ended with a wine tasting of argentiera‘s three wines and some appetizers. another of micaela's recommendation was to visit elba island. it takes about 2-3 hours to arrive to elba as firstly you need to drive to piombino by car and secondly to take the ferry to elba (choose moby although they are a bit more expensive...they are faster than toremar and have a later ferry going back to piombino). but it was worth it! micaela proposed to let the car at piombino as it is too expensive to take it with the ferry and rent a scooter on the island instead. great idea!!! we had a lot of fun!!! coming to the culinary side of our visit, all of micaela‘s recommendations for restaurants were excellent. often we asked her to make the reservation for us, which she was glad to arrange. the restaurants were very different in style and cooking and whatever preferences we announced (e.g. upscale dinner on the terrace directly at the sea, pizza, traditional tuscan dinner etc.), micaela had the perfect restaurant for us... anyway one downside to remeber, before u leave home, put your scale in a safe place, so that you cant find it for weeks after you come back, it might be worth it. when we had to leave last friday, and we asked her, if it is possible to take a small part of tuscany with us, micaela recommended some places to buy fresh cheese, olive oil, vegetables and fruits. we were very sad to have to leave our new discovery and new-found friends and we are sure to come back again! until then we have to bridge the time with some glasses of tuscan wine and the cheese, we took with us, thinking back to this wonderful time we spent with micaela and her family in their little paradise called mediterranea tuscany... ...hope to see you again soon! August 2008 19.46 - 20.09.2008 liebe micaela, liebe familie landelli, wir möchten uns für den ganz einzigartig schönen und harmonischen urlaub in ihrem hause bedanken. wir haben schon viele kleinere schöne hotels kennen gelernt, aber ihres übertrifft alle erwartungen. angefangen von der überaus herzlichen aufnahme durch micaela, das zeigen der räumlichkeiten, den garten, den pool, das „frühstückszimmer“….. ein solch liebevoll eingerichtetes, exklusives feriendomizil sucht seinesgleichen, eine solch atemberaubende aussicht aus unserer „gold-suite“ und von unserer riesengroßen terrasse war absolut einzigartig. das morgendliche schwimmen im pool- den wir für uns alleine hatten – war immer traumhaft schön, mit dem blick auf die pinienwälder. und dann die vorfreude auf das individuell gerichtete frühstück, die verschiedenen selbstgebackenen brote, die kuchen, jeden tag neue tees und kaffees, jeden tag andere, selbst gemachte marmeladen…. und das alles in einem unvergleichlichen ambiente. die täglichen infos und tipps von micaela, wo wir uns was anschauen sollen, waren immer perfekt getroffen. wir wissen gar nicht wo wir aufhören sollen, zu schwärmen! nicht zu vergessen, die tolle landschaft der toskana, die vielen alten dörfer und städtchen, die üppige vegetation, die toskanische küche, einfach alles …fehlt uns jetzt sehr. auch die zikaden mit ihrem zirpen und die gurrenden tauben fehlen uns jetzt daheim und natürlich und eine riesige portion toskanische wärme könnten wir hier auch gut gebrauchen, in unserem rauen klima. nun können wir nur noch in erinnerungen schwelgen, die urlaubsbilder anschauen, die oliven und das olivenöl aus bibbona, den selbst gemachten limoncello und den hauswein genießen und uns gerne an diesen einzigartigen urlaub zurückerinnern. wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf ein baldiges wiedersehen. liebe grüsse aus dem fernen schwarzwald in die toskana, an eine außergewöhnliche familie. ute und bernhard     Paul & Willem 12.56 - 12.08.2008 my partner and i just spent 4 days at this lovely place. we are drawn to smaller properties, but this one really exceded our expectations. the neighborhood itself is very nice, and access to the beaches and to the villages further south is very easy. we had the white suite which is probably the most stylish room i have ever stayed in and it was also very comfortable. our suite had 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms--a real luxury, and again, the bathrooms were beautiful and had everything that we needed and more. what we really loved: micaela--fantastic hostess and cook (as is her father) the very comforable accommodations. our private terrace overlooking the swimming pool. the swimming pool itself. the views, the quiet serenity and beauty of the place. the different areas around the property to sit and read or nap. the food--breakfast was fantastic and always included homemade bread and a pastry which we were treated to in the afternoons as well. our time there was like staying with a friend who just happened to have a beautiful house stocked with everything you need. micaela knows the area very well and knows the right places to go, and she will make reservations for you gladly. but more importantly, she knows how to make her guests feel welcome and at home. her warmth, charm and enthusiasm are boundless. it's hard to think of enough nice things to say. go and find out for yourself what a treat it is to stay at mediterranea suites. thanks so much for your kind hospitalilty!!!     Sue and Roy Babbs 19.06 - 26.01.2008 my husband and i recently stayed at the mediterrranea for six nights in the 'gold room'. our hosts micaela and roberto could not have been more welcoming. the accomodation is stunning !!, the suite is very spacious, tastefully decorated, light and airey with the most marvellous views of both the sea and the forest. outside the suite is a very large balcony which is very sunny for sunbathing but has shady areas for having a light lunch or that glass of wine!! we were so taken with this place that we saw no reasons for longer excursions (shame on us - maybe next time) - we only had to look for the different places and terraces in the romantic garden where we could sit or lie down and which cat would accompany us (not to forget lovely sheila - the watch dog....). so this place is what we call a real escape from daily life - thank you so much, family landelli - mille grazie! susanne e francesco     Mike & Jenny Whitwam 21.23 - 07.06.2007 absolutely fantastic. we loved the gold suite and michaela and her lovely family were "bellisimo" hope i got that right. absolute luxury and there is no doubt we shall return. michaela's homemade lemon jam is "to die for". we have been fortunate to have travelled often and widely, but this is definately one of our favorite places to go and build a holiday around it. we will go back. the good taste in decor and furnishings also extends to restaurant recommendations. the breakfast offers a sublime choice of all you could wish gratzi micheala and family     Claudia-Clarisa & Peter 16.48 - 07.02.2007 wunderschön!!!
